The Parallel Programme of Screenings also includes school children's screenings for Primary School Education, introducing them to the art of short films, and bringing them stories from all the corners of the globe.

Με φόντο την ειδυλλιακή ανατολή του ηλίου πέρα από τον ωκεανό, μία φάλαινα κολυμπά τραγουδώντας το "I Dreamed a Dream" από το μιούζικαλ Οι Άθλιοι. Στην πορεία, τραγουδάνε και άλλα ζώα, όπως ένας ρινόκερος, μια φώκια και ένας πελαργός, χαρίζοντας στον θεατή όμορφες και τρυφερές στιγμές. Ωστόσο, ο τόνος και η διάθεση της ταινίας αλλάζουν απότομα με τους στίχους να γίνονται πιο θλιβεροί και σκοτεινοί όταν ο Άνθρωπος μπαίνει στο προσκήνιο. Κυνηγοί, λαθροθήρες και πετρελαιοκηλίδες απειλούν να εκτοπίσουν το ζωικό βασίλειο από το αψεγάδιαστο σύμπαν του, σπέρνοντας τον τρόμο.
The lm opens on an idyllic sunrise over the ocean where a whale swims while singing the song "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical Les Miserables. The song weaves through different animals as the singer (in addition to the whale, a rhino, a seal and a pelican) and takes the viewers through beautiful, tender moments. The tone and mood shift to doom as the lyrics turn dark and threatening with the introduction of Man and the impact of actions - hunters, poachers and an oil spill take the animals from their perfect world to one of terror.

How many times do we nd similar shapes between them, which seem to have no relationship? As often it happens in nature, all is seemingly different but the basic shapes are repeated with in nite declinations. The format puts in relation objects with similar shapes but different functions.

A glutton bear tries hard to steal a picnic basket located in a scout camp. Sadly for him, this camp is ruled by an ex-military scout leader who is obsessed with labelling things. The bear does not realize he is going to embark on a frantic high-speed chase.

Το Pfennigtango του Helmut Mittermaier ξεκινάει με μια λευκή σελίδα. Ένα χέρι σχεδιάζει μια γραμμή, ένα ορθογώνιο, κύκλους και άλλες γραμμές. Σιγά-σιγά, σχηματίζεται ένα τρισδιάστατο δωμάτιο, προστίθενται χρώματα και το σχέδιο μετατρέπεται σε κινηματογραφική αίθουσα με θεατές.
Pfennigtango by Helmut Mittermaier starts with a blank sheet of paper. A hand draws a line, a rectangle, circles and other lines. Bit by bit a three- dimensional room shapes up, colours are added and a cinema with an audience occurs.

Ένα ντοκιμαντέρ μικρού μήκους για τα «σμάρια» των Ψαρονιών: τις μυστηριώδεις πτήσεις αυτών των αποδημητικών πουλιών. Παραμένει άγνωστο το πόσες χιλιάδες πουλιά μπορούν να πετάνε σε τόσο πυκνά σμήνη χωρίς να συγκρούονται. Κάθε σούρουπο, τα ψαρόνια συγκεντρώνονται για να δώσουν τη δική τους ιπτάμενη παράσταση. Καθώς ο χειμώνας του 2014-2015 ήταν σχετικά ήπιος, τα πουλιά αυτά παρέμειναν στην Ολλανδία αντί να αποδημήσουν σε νοτιότερες χώρες. Το γεγονός αυτό χάρισε στον σκηνοθέτη Jan van Ijken την ευκαιρία να κινηματογραφήσει ένα από τα θεαματικότερα φυσικά φαινόμενα του πλανήτη.
A short documentary lm about “murmurations”: the mysterious fights of the Common Starling. It is still unknown how thousands of birds are able to y in such dense swarms without colliding. Every night the starlings gather at dusk to perform their stunning air show. Because of the relatively warm winter of 2014/2015, the starlings stayed in the Netherlands instead of migrating southwards. This gave filmmaker Jan van Ijken the opportunity to lm one of the most spectacular and amazing natural phenomena on earth.
