Το Marking Time είναι ένα πορτρέτο του καλλιτέχνη Horst Weierstall, ο οποίος βίωσε τη διχοτόμηση του Βερολίνου και της Λευκωσίας. Παρά το γεγονός ότι το έργο του εκτείνεται σε διάστημα τεσσάρων δεκαετιών, τα θέματα που τον απασχολούν, όπως αυτό της διαίρεσης, του περιορισμού της κίνησης και του διαχωρισμού, είναι τόσο σύγχρονα όσο ποτέ.
Marking Time is a visual portrait of the artist Horst Weierstall who experienced the division of Berlin and Nicosia. Although his work spans over four decades, the issues of division, restriction and separation in his performance art are continually contemporary and ever so current.

Στις 20 Δεκεμβρίου 1989, λίγες μέρες μετά τις αιματηρές ταραχές του Τσαουσέσκου στην πόλη Τιμισοάρα, η ήρεμη βραδιά ενός πατέρα ανατρέπεται ξαφνικά όταν ανακαλύπτει ότι ο γιος του έχει στείλει γράμμα στον Άγιο Βασίλη. Όπως αντιλαμβάνεται ο μικρός, επιθυμία του πατέρα του είναι να δει τον Τσαουσέσκου νεκρό.
On the 20th of December 1989, a few days after Ceausescu's bloody repression in Timisoara, a father’s quiet evening turns to sheer ordeal as he finds out that his little son has mailed a wish letter to Santa. As the kid understood, his father’s desire was to see Ceausescu dead.
