Ειδικές προβολές δύο αριστουργημάτων του ελληνικού σινεμά: στο Greek New Wave Cinema προβάλλεται η ταινία μικρού μήκους Nimic του βραβευμένου με Χρυσό Φοίνικα στο Φεστιβάλ Καννών και τέσσερις φορές προτεινόμενου για Βραβείο Όσκαρ, Γιώργου Λάνθιμου, και η ταινία Ηλεκτρικός Κύκνος της ανερχόμενης, πολυβραβευμένης σκηνοθέτιδας και προτεινόμενης για Βραβείο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ακαδημίας, Κωνσταντίνας Κοτζαμάνη.
The ISFFC is proud to present this special screening of two short masterpieces from Greek Directors: the short film Nimic by Palme d’Or winner of Cannes Film Festival and four-time Academy Award nominee, Yorgos Lanthimos, and Electric Swan by young, upcoming, multi-award winner and nominee of the European Film Award for Best Short, Konstantina Kotzamani.

Ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος γεννήθηκε στην Ελλάδα. Η δεύτερη ταινία του, Κυνόδοντας, απέσπασε το Βραβείο του τμήματος «Ένα Κάποιο Βλέμμα» στο 62ο Φεστιβάλ Καννών και προτάθηκε για Βραβείο Όσκαρ Καλύτερης Ξενόγλωσσης Ταινίας. Ο Αστακός απέσπασε Βραβείο Κριτικής Επιτροπής στο 68ο Φεστιβάλ Καννών και προτάθηκε για Βραβείο Όσκαρ Καλύτερου Σεναρίου. Ο Θάνατος του Ιερού Ελαφιού απέσπασε Βραβείο Καλύτερου Σεναρίου στο 70ο Φεστιβάλ Καννών, ενώ Η Ευνοούμενη προτάθηκε για δέκα βραβεία Όσκαρ το 2019.
Yorgos Lanthimos was born in Greece. His sophomore film Dogtooth won the Un Certain Regard Prize at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Academy Award® for Best Foreign Language film. The Lobster won the Jury Prize at the 68th Cannes Film Festival and received an Academy Award® nomination for Best Original Screenplay. The Killing of a Sacred Deer won Best Screenplay at the 70th Cannes Film Festival. The Favourite received a leading ten Academy Award® nominations in 2019.

Υποτίθεται πως τα κτίρια δεν κουνιούνται. Αλλά στη Λεωφόρο Λιμπερταδόρ 2050, ένα κτίριο κουνιέται. Μια περίεργη ναυτία εισχωρεί στους τοίχους και αποσυντονίζει τους κατοίκους. Αυτοί που ζουν στους ψηλούς ορόφους φοβούνται ότι θα πέσουν - αυτοί που μένουν από κάτω, φοβούνται ότι θα πνιγούν.
Buildings are not supposed to move. But on Avenida Libertador 2050, a building moves and the ceiling shivers, causing a strange nausea that devours its residents. Those who live on the top are afraid they will fall – the ones who live beneath are afraid they will drown.
ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ
Η Κωνσταντίνα Κοτζαμάνη γεννήθηκε στην Κομοτηνή και αποφοίτησε από το Tμήμα Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης της Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών (ΑΠΘ). Οι μικρού μήκους ταινίες της έχουν κάνει πρεμιέρα στα μεγαλύτερα διεθνή φεστιβάλ κινηματογράφου όπως Κάννες, Βερολίνο, Λοκάρνο, ενώ έχουν προβληθεί σε φεστιβάλ του εξωτερικού αποσπώντας βραβεία. Για τις ταινίες της Washingtonia (2014) και Limbo (2016), έχει τιμηθεί δύο φορές από την Ελληνική Ακαδημία Κινηματογράφου με το βραβείο της καλύτερης ταινίας μικρού μήκους της χρονιάς, ενώ ήταν υποψήφια για τα βραβεία της Ευρωπαϊκής Ακαδημίας (European Film Academy). Η ταινία της Limbo συμπεριλήφθηκε στη λίστα των προτεινόμενων για Βραβείο Όσκαρ ταινιών το 2017.
Born in Komotini, Konstantina Kotzamani is a graduate student of the Film School of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Thessaloniki. Her short movies have premiered in major festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, Locarno and have received numerous international awards. For her short films Washingtonia (2014) and Limbo (2016), she has been twice awarded with the Hellenic Film Academy Best Short Film Award and twice nominated by the European Film Academy for the Best Short of the year. Limbo was qualified for the short films Academy Award nomination in 2017.
